Cosmos boosts its sales team with key appointments

UK touring and cruising specialist Cosmos Tours has appointed a new field-based sales team of two to develop its commercial trade strategy and provide UK partners with a flexible worldwide touring and cruising programme.
Simon McDermott joins the company as national sales manager and will head up the team. Sarah Ashmore has been appointed sales manager with both reporting into product and commercial director John Fair.
Their remit will be to develop key partnerships with northern and southern agents respectively and to drive awareness of the packaged touring and cruise products offered by Cosmos Tours & Cruises, as well as luxury river cruise brand, Avalon Waterways.
McDermott joins from specialist cruise company Hurtigruten where he was area sales manager (North of England). Ashmore held the role of agency sales manager (South of England) for The River Cruise Line. As well as the newly created field-based roles, Cosmos Tours has expanded its office based agency sales department with the recruitment of agency sales executive Zoe Francis, who joins agency sales senior executive Sharon Earls.
Alan MacLean, the company’s managing director commented: “With our recent investment in new premises, technology, back-office systems and staff training, this is an exciting time for the business as we are in a position to develop our partnership strategy and work far closer with agents to highlight our flexibility and ever-increasing breadth of product.”
