Royal Caribbean has launched a new reservations system for travel agents.

The Espresso system is being billed as “the industry’s most advanced reservation system for travel agent[s]” and will enable the trade to make bookings for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Pullmantur, Azamara and CDF Croisieres de France cruises. It is optimised for tablet devices and reduces the number of steps to make a reservation from seven to five.

“We are very happy to bring the new Espresso reservation system to our valued travel agent partners,” said Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales, trade support & service for Royal Caribbean.

“Espresso puts the industry’s best reservation system at travel agents’ fingertips and provides them the freedom to engage their clients wherever they are.”

The new system offers centralised inventory that allows travel agents to compare up to four stateroom categories at once. They can also use the new interactive deck plans, which highlight the best available staterooms and filter specific criteria, such as connecting, closest-to or accessible staterooms. Agents can then click on the rooms to view photos, layouts and other details.

Once a cruise and room type is selected, the new reservation system finds the best available price and any promotional offers, including the option of comparing individual pricing against their reserved group space.
