EVA Air will fly its latest Hello Kitty aircraft to Singapore this summer.
From June 2015, the special Boeing 777-300ER will be deployed on the Taipei-Singapore route three times a week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays).
As well as being decorated with images of Hello Kitty characters on the outside, the cartoon theme will continue to the aircraft’s interiors, with flight attendants wearing special uniforms and passengers being offered special Hello Kitty gifts and meals.
The new B777-300ER also comes equipped with EVA’s new in-flight entertainment system and Wi-Fi.
“After experiencing an overwhelming demand of our Hello Kitty jets when we introduced chartered flights between Singapore and Taipei earlier this year, we knew Singapore had to be our first destination in Southeast Asia to host our next Hello Kitty themed aircraft,” said Austin Cheng, president of EVA Air.
“With EVA Air’s philosophy to make flying fun, these themed flights offer not just an aircraft to take you from one destination to another, but it offers an all-round experience that begins right from the check-in counter.
“Our vision is for passengers, fans of the Sanrio character or not, to be in awe and enchanted by a truly unique flying experience like no other,” he added.
EVA Air now operates a fleet of six Hello Kitty jets on routes from Taiwan to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Guam and Paris. A Hello Kitty B777 will also be deployed to EVA’s new Taipei-Houston route in future.
