Accor will launch another of its hotel brands in Singapore this year, with the opening of the city’s first ibis Styles hotel.
Scheduled to welcome its first guests in the fourth quarter of 2015, the new ibis Styles Singapore on MacPherson will be a modern budget hotel featuring a “bright interior, funky colours [and a] young look and feel”, according to Accor.
The property will offer 298 rooms, plus a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a gym and a fourth floor outdoor swimming pool with a sundeck and pool bar. The hotel will be located in the same complex as the MacPherson shopping mall.
“We are confident that Accor will bring strong international experience to this hotel and feel that ibis Styles is the perfect fit for this vibrant and upcoming location,” said Patrick Kho, group managing director of Lian Huat Group, which partly owns the property.
“The ibis Styles MacPherson hotel complex will be a game-changer for the MacPherson area, as we will bring the newest and freshest hotel brand in the area.”
Shamila Rolfe, the new hotel’s general manager, said the ibis Styles Singapore would “revolutionise the way people think about economy accommodation”.
The new hotel will become Accor’s seventh property in Singapore in a portfolio that now comprises six brands: ibis, ibis Styles, Novotel, Grand Mercure and Sofitel So.
And the company will continue to expand in Singapore in the coming months and years, with the rebranding of the Singapore Resort & Spa Sentosa as a Sofitel in the second half of 2015, and the opening of a new 782-room Novotel and ibis complex on Stevens Road in 2016.
