Peak Scientific, University of Nottingham and Matrix APA have been named as the winners of the prestigious 2015 Cathay Pacific China Business Awards, which were recently staged at London’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The achievements of the winning organisations were recognised at the awards ceremony by HSBC’s group managing director and chief executive, Global Commercial Banking, Simon Cooper, and Cathay Pacific’s GM Europe, Angus Barclay.
The Continued Commitment Award, which recognises ongoing sustainable and ethical investment in China and Hong Kong, was awarded to the University of Nottingham which was founded in 1881.
Celebrating dynamic and innovative businesses that have opened operations in China within the last five years and demonstrated entrepreneurial flair, the Rising Star Award went to specialists in the design and manufacture of laboratory gas generators, Peak Scientific.
Recognising initiatives from any company or not-for-profit organisation that has benefited China in a socially responsible manner, the Social Responsibility Award went to Matrix APA, the product design and procurement specialist.
Discussing the awards programme, Cathay Pacific’s Barclay said: “These awards provide a platform to showcase talent, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit between the UK and China and, as Hong Kong’s pre-eminent carrier, we are committed to promoting growth and economic prosperity in this dynamic region. This year we not only celebrate our 35th anniversary of flying passengers between the UK and Hong Kong, but are proudly marking ten years of the China Business Awards, making the 2015 event a real milestone in Cathay Pacific’s history.”
