Construction work has commenced on AccorHotels‘ two new properties at Brisbane Airport.
First announced in July 2014, the new Pullman and ibis hotels will rise at Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal Precinct as part of a new AU$150 million (US$107m) development project, and will adjoin the new Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. Both properties are expected to open in September 2017.
“It is exciting to see this significant development for Brisbane Airport break ground,” said Simon McGrath, chief operating officer for AccorHotels Pacific. “The Pullman and ibis hotels will strengthen Brisbane’s airport offering and play a crucial role in winning major conferences and events for the city.”
The Pullman Brisbane Airport will include 130 rooms and suites, plus swimming pools, a lobby lounge, restaurant, private dining room, business centre and a top floor executive lounge.
The ibis Brisbane Airport meanwhile, will offer 243 rooms, a restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a cafe with takeaway service, and a rooftop bar.
The adjoining Brisbane Airport Conference Centre will provide 1,735m² of event space, including a 300-seat ballroom, eight conference rooms, four boardrooms, and open air terrace and a business centre.
The new hotels will join the existing Novotel Brisbane Airport at Skygate.
