InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, IHG’s luxury brand, has opened its first hotel on the Estoril Coast, otherwise known as the Portuguese Riviera.
The InterContinental Estoril is located 27 kilometres west of Lisbon and offers magnificent ocean views from every room, as well as easy access to the country’s historic capital via train along the coastline.
The hotel features an impressive outdoor swimming pool with ocean views as well as tranquil gardens, a wellness centre with Ritual Spa, Club InterContinental and a private terrace. All 59 guest rooms are elegant and modern.
Commonly called the “Coast of Kings” thanks to its popularity with European royalty, Estoril has one of Europe’s largest casinos and was the inspiration for the first of Ian Fleming’s James Bond books, “Casino Royale”.
The destination is also famous for its local seafood specialities, which can be experienced in the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, Lota.do. For pre- or post-dinner drinks, the Atlantico Lounge offers an impressive cocktail menu to be enjoyed alongside unbeatable views of the open Atlantic waters.
