Tauck has launched its “Yellow Roads of Europe” collection of 35 land tours in a new UK brochure.
Tauck, which this year is celebrating its 90th anniversary, is also marking 25 years’ travel in Europe in 2016, with a new Baltics itinerary and significant enhancements to its European portfolio, as well as the successful launch of new brochures on European River Cruises, Exotics, USA and Canada.
Ray Steward, UK & Ireland country manager, said: “We’ve been operating exclusive land journeys across Europe since our debut on the continent in 1991. Typically, our yellow road tours avoid the major routes and instead explore the scenic byways and picturesque towns and villages along the way, as well as Europe’s larger, iconic cultural cities.”
The new Baltics trip begins with a two-night stay at the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square in Vilnius, Lithuania. The eight-day itinerary proceeds to Riga, Latvia for a second two-night stay. Following an overnight in Tallinn, Estonia and a ferry crossing to Finland the following day, the tour concludes with two nights in Helsinki. Along the way, Tauck guests will enjoy in-depth guided sightseeing in each city.
Tauck’s two-week “Scandinavia” exploration of Denmark, Sweden and Norway begins in Copenhagen and concludes in Oslo, and an overnight ferry trip has been replaced with an included flight from Stockholm to Bergen. While in Stockholm, Tauck guests will enjoy a Tauck-exclusive tour of the city’s Royal Opera House followed by drinks and dinner inside the historic venue, which dates back to 1773. In addition, Tauck has also arranged an early-admission, private visit for its guests to 17th-century Frederiksborg Castle, home to the Danish National History Museum, outside of Copenhagen.
Tauck’s “Ultimate Alps & Dolomites” itinerary, meanwhile, has been lengthened from 12 days to 13, with a second night added in the alpine village of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Guests will spend their additional time in the region with local guides exploring the scenes of heavy, sustained fighting in World War I, and they’ll later engage in an informative question-and-answer session with a highly-regarded Italian mountaineer.
Each of Tauck’s 35 Yellow Roads European land tours are contained in a new 136-page brochure, which will be published next week.
