UK independent cruise retailer Reader Offers has reported strong growth figures following its 20th Anniversary Cruise Show, which mirrors industry trends that report a continued rise in the number of people choosing cruise travel holidays.

Bookings at the show, compared with the previous event, rose by 22% with the average booking value increasing by 12%, while passengers were up 25%. River cruise bookings were up 33%.

“This is the 6th Cruise Show that we have held and the post-show data clearly backs-up the trend we are seeing within our business, and the industry as a whole, that cruising is capturing more and more interest,” says Jeremy Dickinson, CEO, Reader Offers.

“With the vast array of cruising holidays now available, the Cruise Show is a great way of showing what’s on offer to those that may not have cruised before or are keen to explore new destinations.  This year, we saw an increase in the number of river cruises being booked; these holidays enable travellers to incorporate more varied excursions into their holiday than ever before, which seems to appeal to an alternative audience.  By visiting the Cruise Show, their eyes are opened to the huge choice and our figures show that cruising really is continuing to grow at a steady pace.”
