CLIA Europe chairman Pierfrancesco Vago has been reappointed for another term.
The executive chairman of MSC Cruises was first appointed to lead the European branch of the Cruise Lines International Association in November 2013.
He recently completed his two-year term as chairman. The members of CLIA Europe’s Board have unanimously asked him to remain at the association’s helm for another year – according to the CLIA Europe’s bylaws, having completed an initial two-year term, the chairman may be re-elected for an extra one-year term.
The Board has also voted to make Kyriakos Anastassiadis, CEO of Celestyal Cruises, a permanent member of CLIA Europe’s Executive Committee, which provides high level management input into the association’s day-to-day running. In this position, Anastassiadis will take on the crucial role of representing the views and interests of the smaller CLIA Europe Cruise Line Members.
The remaining members of the Executive Committee, as confirmed by the Board, are: David Dingle, Chairman of Carnival UK and CLIA Europe Vice Chairman; Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Chairman of Silversea Cruises; Dominic Paul, VP International of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises & Azamara Club Cruises and MD, RCL Cruises Ltd; and Michael Thamm, CEO of the Costa Group.
