Hong Kong Airlines returns to Cambodia

Hong Kong Airlines has announced plans to resume flights to Cambodia, with the launch of a new service to Phnom Penh.
On 27 February 2016, the full-service airline will commence a new direct route between Hong Kong and Cambodia’s capital city. Flights will operate three times a week, departing HKIA every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1400 and arriving in Phnom Penh at 1545. The return flights will then depart on the same days at 1720 and land back in Hong Kong at 2110.
Hong Kong Airlines will serve the route using a single-class Airbus A320 aircraft.
“We are delighted to add Phnom Penh to our expanding network in Asia,” said Li Dianchun, commercial director of Hong Kong Airlines.
“With the booming economic growth in Cambodia, the new direct flight service to Phnom Penh will connect passengers from around the world into the burgeoning country, and at the same time offer more choices and increased convenience to Cambodians travelling out of their country and connecting to our network in mainland China, further promoting the tourism and business ties between Hong Kong and Cambodia.”
Hong Kong Airlines has previously operated flights to Siem Reap. It will now compete with Dragonair on the Phnom Penh route.
