Shangri-La has unveiled plans to expand in the Philippines with the opening of its fourth hotel in Manila.
Scheduled to welcome its first guests on 1 March 2016, Shangri-La at the Fort Manila will be located in Bonifacio Global City.
It will form part of a mixed-use complex that also includes Kerry Sports Manila, an 8,000m² complex that features a spa with 10 treatment rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, an indoor basketball court and a children’s ‘Adventure Zone’.
“As a lifestyle complex, we look outwards, engaging and working with all the key components, not just the hotel,” said John Rice, general manager of Shangri-La at the Fort Manila. “BGC is known as the home of passionate minds, and our vision is to deliver contemporary luxury in one place, where people can collaborate, discover and explore on-trend facilities in a dynamic energetic location.”
Set in one of the Philippines’ tallest buildings, which rises 250 metres from street level, Shangri-La at the Fort Manila will feature 576 rooms and suites, plus a collection of 97 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
The complex’s extensive range of facilities will include 21 function rooms, including a 1,800m² grand ballroom, 36 high-end retail outlets and 14 restaurants and bars.
Shangri-La at the Fort Manila will become the company’s sixth property in the Philippines, following Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu, Edsa Shangri-La Manila, Makati Shangri-La Manila and Hotel Jen Manila.
