Austrian Airlines carried 617,000 passengers in January 2016, marking a year-on-year rise of 1.6 percent.
The flight offering as measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) increased by 7.1 percent to 1.6 billion.
In particular, this raise reflects the launch of flight services to new long-haul tourist destinations such as Miami, Colombo and Mauritius.
Revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) rose by 4.7 percent to 1.1 billion. Capacity utilisation (passenger load factor) averaged 70.4 percent, a slight decline of 1.6 percentage points compared to January 2015. The number of flights operated by the carrier increased in January by 1.7 percent to 9,052 flights.
