Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority hosted a strategy meeting last month at Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah.
Put in place to provide strategy details to the emirate’s stakeholders, the event provided the opportunity for the Tourism Development Authority to receive feedback and strengthen relationships within the industry.
Two sessions took place (in Arabic and English), both led by Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, who addressed 31 stakeholders across the emirate’s tourism industry and government entities.
Mattar kicked off the meeting by sharing the three-year strategy plan put in place to drive Ras Al Khaimah’s growth and maximise the tourism offering. Revealing plans to focus on the development of the emirate’s heritage and historical sites, and Khatt Natural Springs, Mattar communicated the importance of marketing Ras Al Khaimah’s natural assets and diverse landscapes.
Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “We understand the importance of our stakeholders to the success of positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a top tourism destination. With this in mind, this is the first of many meetings we will be holding to discuss plans as we believe the best way to make the most of our emirate’s opportunities is through collaboration.”
Attendees had the chance to learn about Ras Al Khaimah’s top source markets, including the UAE, the UK, Germany, India and Western Europe. Source market strategy was also discussed – from maintaining growth in these markets to growing the emirate’s market share in other emerging markets where significant growth potential has been identified.
