Redefine|BDL Hotels has pledged to raise £50,000 for Make-A-Wish UK, the charity that grants wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Whilst the value of each child’s individual wish varies, the figure pledged by the company equates to approximately 12 individual wishes.
The funds will be raised by central office staff based in Glasgow and London and hotel employees across Redefine|BDL Hotels’ 63-strong portfolio.
Employees will be encouraged to take part in Make-A-Wish events, such as ‘World Wish Day’ in April and ‘Bake A Wish’ in October, as well as setting up their own activities.
Susan Bland, chief HR officer at Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “It’s vitally important for us to give back to those most in need through charity fundraising, and we’re very much looking forward to embarking on this new partnership with Make-A-Wish.
“Our target of £50,000 – or 12 wishes for seriously ill children across the UK – is ambitious; however, during our partnership with Macmillan, more than half of the total funds raised were gathered during the final quarter of 2015. If our teams can raise £30,000 in three months, just think what they can do in a year.
Throughout the year, anyone wishing to donate to Make-A-Wish via Redefine|BDL Hotels can do so via www.justgiving.com/RedefineBDL2016
