Starwood has opened its first St Regis hotel in Kuala Lumpur, just weeks after the brand made its Malaysian debut on the island of Langkawi.
The new St Regis Kuala Lumpur forms part of One IFC, a high-end mixed-use development in the KL Sentral area of the city. Overlooking the Lake Gardens, National Museum and Houses of Parliament, the property features 208 rooms and suites, ranging from 63 to 353m².
Facilities include six F&B outlets, including a Japanese restaurant overseen by three Michelin-starred chef Takashi Saito, and a rooftop bar, plus a spa, fitness centre, yoga room and outdoor swimming pool.
And the hotel will become a major player on the city’s MICE scene, with more than 10,000m² event space including a ballroom.
“Kuala Lumpur serves as a befitting destination to introduce the St Regis brand,” said Charlie Dang, Starwood’s regional vice president for Southeast Asia. “The opening of The St Regis Kuala Lumpur further strengthens our commitment to Starwood’s luxury portfolio in this dynamic market, which continues to see strong demand for high-end accommodations from discerning travellers.”
Starwood first introduced its St Regis brand to Malaysia last month with the opening of the St Regis Langkawi. The KL property becomes the 38th St Regis worldwide, and three more will be added later in 2016, in the Maldives, Changsha and Cairo.
