Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is encouraging Mancunians to ditch the beach holiday and instead make the most of the new C Series flights to Zurich that launched from Manchester Airport on Saturday.
SWISS claims the new Bombardier-manufactured twinjet is only half as loud as comparable aircraft to the human ear.
SWISS is operating two flights every day from Manchester to Zurich.
SWISS director for UK and Ireland Felix Rodel said: “We’re delighted to be introducing the new C Series into our fleet and setting new standards in aircraft innovation, comfort and technology.”
Stephen Turner, commercial director at Manchester Airport, commented: “We are thrilled to be one of the first destinations SWISS will fly to with their new CS100 aircraft. We believe passengers will enjoy the additional levels of comfort the aircraft offers and we’re sure it will also prove a hit with the aviation spotters who visit the airport.”
Flights are available from £100 one-way.
