AccorHotels has celebrated the grand opening of the Novotel Xi’an SCPG, which marks the midscale brand’s entry into the ancient Chinese city.
The new hotel, which opened on 28 July, also becomes the first Novotel in Shaanxi province and brings the brand’s total Chinese portfolio to 21 properties.
“We are excited about introducing the new lodging concept in this historic city which complements our four existing luxury, midscale and regional brand properties in Renmin Square,” said Michel Molliet, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer of Greater China.
“This attractive new property enriches our brand portfolio in the region, reinforcing our hospitality leadership in the midscale segment. The new hotel aims to fill the growing niche market of business and leisure travellers in the city.”
Located next to the new Xi’an Incity shopping mall, the new Novotel offers 275 rooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, two Chinese private dining rooms and a fitness centre. For the MICE market, the hotel also has 365m² of event space comprising four function rooms that can accommodate up to 110 guests.
Other Novotels in China can be found in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanchang, Ningbo, Wuhan, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Daqing.
