Garuda Indonesia has decided to use Sabre’s technology to improve its operations.
The national carrier has selected a complete range of Sabre airline solutions in an effort to improve its aircraft tracking, disruption control and crew management operations. These will allow Garuda to exchange data and information across multiple departments, creating a centralised set of data and reports.
The overall goal of this is to help to optimise its daily operations, enable better decision-making, improve crew utilisation and enhance the airline’s ability to manage disruptions.
“Sabre’s enterprise operations solutions will give us a far more sophisticated approach to managing our operations, crew and the impact of disruptions,” explained Benny Butarbutar, Garuda’s vice president of corporate communications. “This in turn will help us improve profitability and drive customer loyalty. As we pursue further international network growth, which is critical to our long-term strategy, the platform will also help us streamline operations across multiple geographies.”
Dasha Kuksenko, Sabre Airline Solutions’ vice president and regional general manager for Asia Pacific, added that using such technology was important for Southeast Asian airlines, due to the region’s “resource-constrained infrastructure and volatile weather conditions”.
“We are working with carriers in the region to create a more connected airline that can optimise operations regardless of these regional challenges,” she added.
The Sabre products selected by Garuda include Sabre AirCentre Movement Manager, Sabre AirCentre Recovery Manager Ops and Sabre AirCentre Crew Manager.
