Travel Counsellors recently staged a special ‘family week’ to support and thank team members across the business for the important part they play in the company’s success.
The week formed part of the dedicated ‘TC Kids’ programme that the company introduced to help support its busy working mums and dads during school holidays. It launched with a summer party hosted at the company’s head office in Manchester, which was sponsored by Carnival Cruises and was open to all the TC Kids in the company to attend and join in the fun. Activities included a TCTV kids special filmed in the company’s in-house TV studio; an array of tricks with magician Wacky Woody; and a trip to the nearby Play Factory in Trafford City.
The week then continued with a TC Family Day at Alton Towers, where over 350 Travel Counsellors, partners, children, grandchildren and head office staff descended on the famous theme park to experience all the adrenalin-pumping rides and family-friendly attractions it has to offer. Representatives from Carnival Cruises greeted attendees and provided t-shirts designed by one of the TC kids themselves. Families enjoyed face-painting, colouring competitions, and won some fantastic prizes including an overnight stay at Alton Towers Splash Landing, spa days, and goody bags.
Travel Counsellor Claire Dent commented: “My children absolutely loved the family week! Being part of a company that acknowledges, understands and appreciates the importance of family life as well as running a business is priceless and one of the many aspects that sets us apart from the rest”.
The event follows a series of new initiatives by Travel Counsellors to support its members on a personal level including the launch of the holistic Health and Wellbeing programme designed to support Travel Counsellors’ agents in all aspects of their lives.
Karen Morris, operations director at Travel Counsellors said: “It is so important to us to support every person in the TC extended family, professionally and personally. We have developed a best-in-class benefits system, counselling service, a welfare scheme to help in times of need, health & wellbeing initiatives, and support programmes for our TC kids, partners and teens. We’re delighted that this is actually making a difference with 94% of Travel Counsellors saying that they love their job”.
