Artyzen Hospitality Group, which is owned by Hong Kong conglomerate Shun Tak Holdings, has unveiled plans to launch the first two citizenM hotels in Asia.
The contemporary brand has already been rolled out to eight locations in the US and Europe, including New York, London and Paris. And under the next phase of its global expansion plan, citizenM will make its Asian debut early next year with the opening of hotels in Shanghai and Taipei.
In Shanghai, the new citizenM hotel will be set in the MixC development, in the Hongqiao area of the city, while Taipei’s first citizenM will be located near the Ximending shopping district.
According to citizenM, guests at the new hotels can expect “intelligent design, unrivalled connectivity and seamless customer service”. Signature concepts include the ‘Living Room’ lobby areas, touch-screen ‘MoodPads’ in the rooms that control the lighting, temperature, window shades, alarm and television, and ‘Rain Dance’ showers.
Artyzen is the Asian joint venture partner for the citizenM brand, and future projects are being targeted in Hong Kong, Beijing, Jakarta, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
“We look forward to working with our Asian brand joint venture partner, Artyzen Hospitality Group, to open the region’s first citizenM property in Taipei in 2017 with Shanghai to follow shortly afterwards,” said Rattan Chadha, CEO of citizenM. “Both are vital, gateway cities for us to establish regional presence and bring the cutting-edge citizenM experience to the dynamic Asian market.”
