Work on a brand new upscale hotel at Adelaide Airport will start next year.

Event Hospitality & Entertainment has reached agreement with the airport’s operator, AAL, to develop and manage a new seven-storey, 165-room hotel within the airport precinct. The property will be operated under the Atura brand.

Scheduled to open in 2018, the new hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, a business centre and meeting spaces. It will also be “design-led”, according to the Event Hospitality, with “high-energy public areas and the latest technology”.

A walkway will directly link the hotel with the airport’s domestic and international check-in area.

“With a focus on great design and quality food and drink offerings, Atura Hotels offer design-savvy travellers a fresh travel experience; one we believe will hold great appeal for all airport precinct visitors and not just hotel guests,” said David Seargeant, Event Hospitality’s group managing director. “The unique design for our Adelaide Airport property will seamlessly connect the terminal and hotel with the plaza space.”

As well as the Atura brand, Event Hospitality operates QT Hotels & Resorts, Rydges Hotels & Resorts, Art Series Hotels, Thredbo Resort and the Event cinema group. Work on the new Adelaide Airport project is expected to get underway in April 2017.
