Garuda Indonesia will launch scheduled flights between Bali to Chengdu early next year, as it continues to expand its operations between China and the resort island.
Commencing on 15 January 2017, in time for Chinese New Year, the new service will operate four times a week, departing Denpasar every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and returning from Chengdu the following day.
Garuda will deploy a twin-aisle Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, with 267 seats in two classes.
Chengdu will become the fifth Chinese destination Garuda serves from Bali, following Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai. It recently increased the frequency and aircraft size on the Bali-Guangzhou route.
China is now the second largest source market of visitors to Bali, with arrivals jumping 36% to 464,000 in the first half of 2016.
