Thailand’s Minister of Tourism & Sports, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, will address the Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+), which gets underway in Chiang Mai this week.

The minister will discuss the issue of community-based tourism, drawing on her previous experience with Thailand’s Office of Royal Development Projects Board and her tenure as president of the Self Sufficient Economy Committee, under the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

This talk will form part of the Tourism Trend Talk Forum, which will be held on 14 June at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition & Convention Centre. It is open free-of-charge to all TTM+ delegates and will also include a panel discussion and Q&A session.

“The forum is a value-added component of the TTM+ that is beneficial for buyers and sellers and their potential business. We have received very positive feedback over the years. This year, we have chosen topics of great relevance to the entire travel and tourism industry in Thailand and the GMS (Greater Mekong sub-region),” said Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

“We are particularly pleased to have Minister Kobkarn lead the session to highlight the importance of the Royal Projects, initiated by our beloved late monarch King Bhumibol Adulyadej as part of his visionary sufficiency economy concept. We hope it will be a positive learning experience for everyone.”
