The Malta Tourism Authority has relaunched its online training website for UK and Ireland travel agents.
Consisting of news, selling tips, practical advice on travel to Malta, information on the capital of Valletta and other reasons to visit, the Online Travel Training (OTT) course aims to provide agents with an in-depth knowledge of the country, assisting them to easily answer customer enquiries and drive sales.
Providing further incentive, every six months all agents that complete the five-module course are entered into a competition to win a three-night break for two to Malta.
Agents will also be entered into a monthly draw to win an iTunes voucher worth £50.
The Malta Tourism Authority has also launched a new consumer website (www.maltauk.com), which includes an offers page featuring weekly Maltese holiday deals from airlines and tour operators who have partner agreements with the tourist board.
This deals site is intended to give travel agents visibility of the best deals available to book for their clients. The new website is now the call to action on all MTA’s UK and Ireland advertising.
Peter Vella, director UK and Ireland, Malta Tourism Authority, said: “Our travel agent partners are extremely valuable to Malta as a destination and we want to make sure they have the necessary tools at their disposal. Malta has seen the largest increase in tourism numbers from the UK than from any other country. We saw an additional 28,588 UK visitors in 2016 compared with 2015, and we could not achieve such fantastic results without the support of the travel trade.”
