Food options get eco-frinedly in CMV

TD Editor

Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) is starting trials of a leading brand of butter dispenser available at the onboard self-service dining areas. As part of the company’s ongoing strategy to reduce environmental impact, the new dispensers will minimise wastage and single use packaging.

Announcing the move, Bob McGowan, director of product and guest services said: “We are committed to doing what we can to reduce waste, single use plastics and packaging on board. This is a great idea and it is also more hygienic when dispensed in this manner. Initially the trials will take place on board Magellan at the ‘Raffles Bistro’ and when buffet style breakfast is served in the ‘Waldorf and ‘Kensington’ restaurants. If the Butter dispenser proves successful, then the system will be put in place across the whole CMV fleet.”
