Accor has expanded its Australian brand, The Sebel, with the launch of two new properties.
The first new addition, The Sebel South Brisbane at 50 Water Street, opened its doors last week on the south side of the Brisbane River. Located close to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the property will offer 63 rooms, a swimming pool, fitness centre, boardroom and rooftop deck area.
The second new Sebel will be a new-build hotel located in the state of Victoria. Set to open in early 2018, The Sebel Yarrawonga will offer 120 rooms overlooking Lake Mulwala. Construction is expected to get underway next year, and once complete it will offer a restaurant, bar, pool, health club and a 300-seat conference facility.
“For more than 50 years the Sebel name has been renowned for its historical legacy, style and exceptional hotel destinations. We are excited by our latest partnerships with The Sebel which represent an opportunity for Accor to further capitalise on the growth in the serviced apartments sector and diversify from hotel and resort-style accommodation which has been our core product for over 20 years,” said Accor Pacific’s chief operating officer, Simon McGrath.
Following the recent opening of The Sebel South Brisbane, Accor now operates 23 Sebel properties across Australia and New Zealand.
