AccorHotels has opened a new hotel on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc.
The new Mercure Phu Quoc Resort & Villas is a newly refurbished beachfront resort which features 72 villas, including some with private pools.
Facilities at the resort include a restaurant that overlooks the sea, a bar, outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, a 24-hour fitness centre, spa and watersports. For the MICE market, the new Mercure can handle events of up to 80 delegates.
“A strategic opening, Mercure Phu Quoc Resort & Villas will accommodate holidaymakers and travellers on the increasingly popular island, especially those seeking to switch off or simply enjoy the beach,” said Patrick Basset, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer for Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines.
“As the third Mercure in Vietnam, the resort strengthens AccorHotels’ commitment in the country to growing the Mercure brand.”
The Mercure becomes AccorHotels’ second property in Phu Quoc, following La Veranda Resort, which forms part of the company’s MGallery Collection. It also expands the company’s total Vietnam portfolio to 21 hotels, making AccorHotels the largest international hotel group in the country.
