AccorHotels has consolidated its operations in Singapore, bringing together three offices into its main headquarters.
The regional offices of AccorHotels, loyalty programme Accor Plus, and new concierge business John Paul are all now co-located in the Guoco Tower, the tallest building in the city.
“We had several options when selecting our new regional headquarters, but we chose Singapore because it provides a safe environment, world-class infrastructure and a business-friendly climate,” said Michael Issenberg, chairman & CEO of AccorHotels Asia Pacific.
“We do not yet have all our brands present in Singapore but we have been able to scale our business very rapidly here and I think Singapore is the perfect city in which to innovate new brands and ideas, so we will continue to look for new opportunities here.”
Since moving its Asia Pacific headquarters from Sydney to Singapore in 2008, AccorHotels has grown from employing fewer than 500 to more than 3,300 staff in the Lion City. And in coming months it will add a further 540 new jobs.
AccorHotels currently operates 12 hotels in Singapore, comprising 5,400 rooms, and this year will it add another 1,000 rooms to the city. August will see the opening of the 223-room Sofitel Singapore City Centre, while a combined Novotel and Mercure complex on Stevens Road will boost the city’s inventory by a further 772 keys in October.
Meanwhile the Raffles Hotel Singapore, which joined AccorHotels following its recent acquisition of FRHI Hotels, is currently undergoing a major renovation that will be completed mid-2018.
