AccorHotels recently hosted its seventh and largest Annual Leisure Workshop to date at ibis London Earls Court – the group’s first ever workshop to be held in the capital.
The two-day event was staged from 28th – 29th January and was attended by 250 delegates including 13 UK and European destinations and 85 hotels selling to coach specialists, group tour operators and inbound wholesalers.
The company said the networking event was designed to bolster both group and leisure opportunities within the market for the remainder of 2016 as well provide a platform for hotels and suppliers – including Leger Holidays, Edwards Coaches and Cox & Kings – to develop existing partnerships and establish new contacts.
Setting the tone for the event, AccorHotels celebrated it clients’ success throughout 2015 with a gala dinner and awards ceremony. Great Rail Journeys (Specialist Group Operator), Crusader Holidays (Small-Medium Coach Operator), Leger Holidays (Large fleet Coach Operator), Vosaio (Partnership Achievement – Group Wholesaler), JAC Travel (Incoming Group Wholesaler) took home one trophy each whilst The Group Company (Top Producer for Leisure Online and Domestic Group Wholesaler) and Edwards Coaches (Partnership Achievement- Coach Operator and Special Achievement) were the big winners of the evening scooping two each.
In a post-event survey conducted by AccorHotels, 81% of clients who attended said they had fully achieved their objectives over the two days and 70% said the event would likely lead to more business and contracts throughout the remainder of 2016 and into 2017. In addition, of the 85 hotels in attendance, 98% have confirmed their attendance next year.
