Aer Lingus has relaunched its loyalty programme in partnership with Avios.
The programme, named AerClub, is the first Irish airline loyalty programme that enables Aer Lingus’ frequent flyer programme members to collect Avios points on Aer Lingus flights, as well as non-air purchases from a wide range of brands including retail, hotels and car hire, across Ireland, Europe and North America.
AerClub members will also have the opportunity to collect Avios when shopping with a range of online retailers including: Apple, Currys, House of Fraser, Argos, Eason, Marks and Spencer via the Avios eStore, and new partners Appleby, Holidays with Aer Lingus on aerlingus.com. And for the first time ever, members will also be able to collect Avios when shopping at luxury shopping destination Kildare Village upon presentation of their AerClub membership card.
A new tier membership structure will give AerClub members the opportunity to earn points based on frequency of travel and spend on Aer Lingus. Entry to each tier will depend on the tier member’s points balance. The new tier levels are Green, Silver, Platinum and Concierge. Each tier will have a unique combination of reward and recognition benefits, which may include priority check-in, priority boarding, lounge access, complimentary upgrades and bonus points earning.
Unlike the Gold Circle programme, AerClub members will earn Avios points on every Aer Lingus flight, collecting three Avios points for every €1 spent, as well as when flying with selected AerClub airline partners.
Avios can in turn be used to buy flights on any of the 600 destinations worldwide serviced by Aer Lingus and its airline partners.
As well as access to flights, members will be able to spend their Avios on a range of travel and leisure partners such as retail, hotel and car hire through the Avios global network. Avios can also be used for discounts off the cash price of flights.
Aer Lingus Chief Operating Officer, Mike Rutter said: “Over the past 28 years, our guests’ needs have changed but our commitment to innovate and deliver increasingly smart ways to travel has not. After listening to feedback and reviewing our loyalty programme, we’re pleased to officially launch AerClub, our ambitious new loyalty programme, in partnership with Avios. AerClub will significantly enhance our guests’ travel experience.”
