Aeromexico now offers a direct daily service on the London-Mexico City route to continue strengthening ties between Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Operated by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the cabin features 32 seats in Clase Premier (Aeromexico’s Business class) – all of which recline into fully flat beds, plus 211 seats in Economy.
The cabin also includes larger windows, a seatback entertainment system with individual touch screens and Sky Interiors LED lighting. The plane’s advanced technology also improves cabin air pressure and humidity, to reduce jet lag symptoms and fatigue.
The airline began operations between the two countries in 2012 with three flights per week, increasing service to six weekly flights in 2016, and now offers a daily nonstop service between London and Mexico City.
It operates out of Terminal 4 at London Heathrow along with other SkyTeam partners, and out of Terminal 2 at Mexico City Airport.
The carrier’s route network includes 46 destinations in Mexico, 19 in the United States, 7 in Central America and the Caribbean, and 8 in South America. This serves the growing demand for air travel in both countries, which has increased significantly in recent years.
Since 2013, passenger traffic between Mexico and the United Kingdom has grown close to 32% and 689,283 passengers were carried between the two countries in 2016 alone, representing a 20.3% increase over 2015.
The Mexican Ministry of Tourism reported that the domestic destinations with the highest inbound British visitor rates in 2016 were Cancun/Riviera Maya, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta, representing more than 98% of all tourists travelling to Mexico from the U.K.
Furthermore, British travellers’ interests have spread beyond tourism to business due to increased trade and economic development between the two countries, with significant growth in the financial, investment, energy, manufacturing and education sectors.
For customers travelling in Clase Premier, Aeromexico offers complimentary Chauffeur Services as a travel option to and from London Heathrow, as well as Premium Services at the airport providing arrival and departure assistance at the terminal. Aeromexico.com/chauffeurcar
The airline also has its Corporate Club Premier Business Program offering members benefits and discounts, Premier Points, access to premium airport lounges, Chauffeur Service and the possibility of redeeming points for travel on Aeromexico and all SkyTeam airline partners. Clubpremiercorporate.com
