Air New Zealand has revealed its new lounge design at Sydney Airport.
The new concept, which will eventually be rolled out to the airline’s other global lounges, features a modern design with a range of spaces for different passenger needs, including a bar and buffet area, quiet zone and kids’ room.
“Airports are a key part of the customer journey and 18 months ago we embarked on a NZ$40 million (US$29m) programme to redevelop several of our lounges at some of the busiest ports we fly to,” said Air New Zealand’s chief sales & commercial officer, Cam Wallace.
“It’s incredibly exciting to showcase the first of these new-look lounges in Sydney today. We look forward to welcoming customers into the space tomorrow and finding out what they think.”
The new Sydney lounge measures more than 1,500m² and includes a large bar area featuring a glass wine wall. There is also café area, a quiet zone with a power table for charging devices, Wi-Fi and printing facilities, and a children’s area featuring books, games and kids’ movies.
The lounge also features large digital screens depicting images of New Zealand.
Following the launch of the Sydney lounge, the new concept will be introduced to Auckland Airport in August, followed by Brisbane, Queenstown and other airports over the next two years.
