Air NZ Beech aircraft return to service
Air New Zealand’s domestic subsidiary, Eagle Air has returned four of its Beech 1900D aircraft to service.
The 19-seat aircraft were taken out of service on Tuesday after one of the aircraft was found to have hairline cracks in its tail area. A subsequent inspection found at least two more aircraft to have similar cracks.
“We are also providing air services into nearly all of the 20 airports around the country that we normally operate into,” said Eagle Air’s General Manager, Carrie Hurihanganui.
The airline added that it is consulting with the aircraft manufacturer about any further maintenance work that may be required.
Eagle Air operates a fleet of 18 Beech 1900D aircraft.
