Air New Zealand has teamed up with Betty White, star of the classic TV show the Golden Girls, for its latest in-flight safety video.

Launching today (10 October 2013), the ‘Safety Old School Style’ video is set in fictional retirement resort in the US, and features the Emmy Award-winning actress, along with other famous old American actors, including Gavin MacLeod from ‘The Love Boat’. The in-flight safety video will now be shown to passengers on their seatback screens prior to departure.

“Air New Zealand’s brand is all about liberating from the ordinary and our safety videos have proven a great way to showcase our unique personality to audiences of all ages around the world. In Betty we found the perfect partner – she is renowned for being a little bit cheeky and with a career spanning 74 years, who better to learn survival tips from than the award-winning show business veteran?” said Air New Zealand’s head of global brand development, Jodi Williams.

Betty White is the latest in a series of celebrities to have appeared in the airline’s safety videos. Previous editions have included the stars of the Hobbit movie, TV adventurer Bear Grylls and the All Blacks rugby team. CLICK HERE to watch the latest safety video.
