Orbitz Worldwide, the online travel agency, will now be able to distribute its content via the Amadeus GDS.

Expedia, the parent company of Orbitz, has signed a long-term extension of its partnership with Amadeus, which now incorporates Orbitz’s air, hotel, car, rail and cruise content. The agreement previously covered content from the Expedia, Hotwire, Travelocity, Wotif, Expedia Affiliate Network and Egencia brands.

“Expedia’s commitment is to deliver an exceptional air shopping and booking experience by making it easy for travellers to find exactly what they want. Amadeus helps Expedia to be the very best place to shop for flights,” said Greg Schulze, Expedia’s senior vice president of global tour & transport.

This latest agreement builds on the companies’ existing partnership, which includes “Upgrade Options” for several airlines and pre-paid checked baggage offerings.

“Expedia is a major online travel player. We are excited to expand our partnership and to continue working together to power innovative travel experiences to delight consumers worldwide,” said Holger Taubmann, Amadeus’ senior vice president of distribution.
