Amadeus has joined forces with Finnair and UNICEF to help underprivileged children in Asia.

Under a new joint initiative, passengers will have the opportunity to make donations to UNICEF when booking their flights on the Finnair website. The option will become available as of 28 October 2014 and all donations will go towards UNICEF’s ‘Schools for Asia’ initiative which supports education for vulnerable children in 11 Asian countries.

“We want to support educational opportunities with our long-term partners, UNICEF and Amadeus. We’ve traditionally made the collection in-flight, but now passengers can donate as they book their flights at finnair.com. We hope that passengers will back our aim of providing a better future for many Asian children,” said Pekka Vauramo, CEO of Finnair.

“Even very small sums can make a big difference, and every donation is significant to those who benefit.”

Luis Maroto, president & CEO of Amadeus, added that “CSR must be a continued priority” for all companies.

Finnair’s oneworld alliance partner, Iberia, launched a similar partnership with UNICEF and Amadeus in November 2013.
