Amadeus has signed a new distribution agreement with Garuda Indonesia that will enable the GDS company to sell the airline’s full range of fares.

Travel agencies in Indonesia, Singapore and Japan will now have extended access to Garuda Indonesia’s fares, seat availability and schedules via the Amadeus GDS system.

“Amadeus’ extensive travel agency network in Asia Pacific will help us reach new customer segments and strengthen our presence in Asia,” said Erik Meijer, Garuda’s executive vice president of marketing & sales.

“We also see this agreement as a natural extension to our existing technology partnership with Amadeus, which we implemented to help us improve our customer service offering ahead of our entry into the SkyTeam Alliance.”

“Garuda’s rapid growth in recent years is very impressive, and we are pleased they have chosen Amadeus to support their on-going transformation. This agreement is an important next step in our partnership with them, and we look forward to helping them cement their foothold in the booming Asian landscape,” added Hazem Hussein, executive vice president of airline commercial for Amadeus Asia Pacific.

Amadeus accounts for 40% of the world’s air travel agency bookings.
