American Queen Steamboat Company has applied to become a member of CLIA UK & Ireland.
The US-based river cruise company, which is sold through Light Blue Travel in the UK, is waiting for the membership to be finalised so it can start to communicate with more travel agents.
Graham Clubb, who is managing director of American Queen Steamboat Company in the UK, said: “We have submitted our application to join CLIA UK & Ireland and plan to be at the river cruise expo later this month. We see travel agents as a good avenue for sales and a CLIA membership will help us to reach more travel agents.”
AQSC recently welcomed its second vessel into its fleet with American Empress, which was christened on 5 April. The new river boat will sail along the Columbia and Snake rivers with a homeport in Vancouver, Canada.
The vessel was previously Empress of the North under the Majestic America Line but was bought by AQSC in May 2013 and been renovated.
