American Airlines‘ new flights between Los Angeles and Sydney go on sale this Sunday.
The new direct route will launch on 17 December 2015, as part of the airline’s partnership with Qantas.
Flights will depart LAX daily at 2150, arriving Sydney 0755 two days later. The return services will then leave Sydney at 1200, arriving back at LAX at 0650 the same day.
American will deploy its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route, equipped with three cabin classes and in-flight Wi-Fi.
“Expanding our global footprint to another continent is an important step for American as we continue to invest in our network to provide the best possible travel experience for our customers,” said Andrew Nocella, American’s chief marketing officer.
“We are eager to begin service to Australia with our flagship aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER, which offers amenities and service that international travellers recognise as one of the best travel experiences in the industry.”
As part of the trans-Pacific partnership, Qantas will launch services between Sydney and San Francisco in December 2015. The two airlines will codeshare on each others’ routes.
