ANA will relaunch domestic flights using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner this weekend.

The Japanese airline, which was the launch customer for the aircraft, plans to operate two flights from Sapporo to Tokyo Haneda on Sunday 26 May 2013, using the B787.

Subsequent services will be operated on the route on Monday, and then on Thursday and Friday, as the airline prepares for the full resumption of Dreamliner flights next Saturday.

ANA has fitted the new battery to all 17 of its B787 aircraft, and plans to resume international services using the aircraft on 1 June 2013.

“The safety of passengers is our number one priority. Modifications for all 787 have been implemented and ANA has undertaken its own additional testing. The 787 remains a game-changing aircraft,” said ANA’s president & CEO, Osamu Shinobe.

From 1 June 2013, ANA’s Dreamliner will resume operations on the Tokyo Narita-San Jose, Haneda-Frankfurt, Haneda-Taipei and Narita-Beijing routes. Narita-Shanghai Dreamliner flights will start from 1 August 2013.

All B787s were grounded in January 2013 after a series of overheating incidents involving the aircraft’s battery, one of which forced an ANA Dreamliner to make an emergency landing during a domestic flight.
