AWTE announces 2017 Chair Awards shortlist

Nominations for the AWTE Chair Awards – a celebration of women working in the travel industry – have been announced.
Taking place on September 12, there are three awards within different sectors of the industry and previous winners have ranged from CEOs to female train drivers.
The award categories comprise of the Business Impact Award and Company of the Year. Additionally, the Honorary Award celebrates contributions to the AWTE and contributions made to advance careers of women in travel.

Sarah Clayton Turner – chair AWTE said: “I am delighted that we received so many nominations this year. The nominees are all powerhouses in their own right and they represent a real cross section of women in the industry. We look forward to raising a glass to their success”.
On the evening, a further five women will be inducted on to the AWTE influential women in travel list started on the 60th anniversary of the association in 2014.
This year it celebrated a new milestone, the 50-year anniversary of the Benevolent Fund. Every year the Benevolent Fund issues two cash donations for £1,000 and £500 respectively to help women grow their business. The winners will also be announced at the Chair Awards.
