Boingo Wireless, the DAS and Wi-Fi provider has been selected by Dubai Airports as an exclusive Wi-Fi provider. This would be across Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC).
Boingo will manage and operate ad-supported Wi-Fi services throughout both airports, which serve a collective total of more than 66 million leisure and business travellers annually. Through Boingo’s tiered Wi-Fi service model, all Dubai passengers will receive complimentary Wi-Fi access. The company will also offer premium Wi-Fi service options for travellers engaging in data intensive activities such as streaming video or uploading large files. The premium service fees will help the airport optimize user experience.
Eugene Barry, senior vice president, commercial at Dubai Airports said: “We are currently in the process of completing a large-scale network upgrade in parallel with launch of this new service. This is being done with the primary aim of providing fastest and most secure connectivity for all customers.”
Boingo and Dubai Airports are partnering with Duon the Wi-Fi deployments. Du will provide high-speed bandwidth for both airport networks. In conjunction with the contract, Boingo will open an office in Dubai to service airports.
