A British family has been chosen to become the family ambassadors for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Nottingham-based Penny and Rik Alexander will cruise around the world with their children Lily, aged six, and four-year-old Gylan as the ‘Funnest Family’ after winning a competition to get the job.
The family will travel on cruises worth GBP10,000 to the Mediterranean and Caribbean plus also have a ship tour in Dover.
Their experiences will be shared to showcase the activities, entertainment and food available on Carnival’s ships. This will include a review of the revamped Carnival Sunshine and a trip to Miami to board Carnival Breeze.
“Our new role will give us the chance to see the world as a family with the added perks of enjoying great food and entertainment – we can’t wait to set sail and get started,” said Penny Alexander.
Carnival is to pull its ships from Europe next year and has scaled down its UK office, citing difficult trading in the European market.
“We wanted to ensure that all the features, facilities and activities are delivering as much fun as possible for British holidaymakers and the Alexander’s really stood out as being the perfect family to put them to the test,” said Adolfo Pérez, managing director of Carnival Cruise Lines UK.
