Carnival Cruise Lines has set a new record for passengers booked in a single month.
The Miami-based cruise line has taken net bookings of more than 565,000 guests throughout January 2014.
While the number of reservations was up 17% compared to last year, the cruise line also saw visits to its website reach a high of 13 million.
Its success has been placed on ship enhancements; promotions; agent support and a new advertising campaign in the US.
“Now is the time of year when many people focus on their upcoming vacation plans and the cruise industry typically sees an escalation in booking activity. We are definitely observing a strong uptick in reservations with bookings coming in at unprecedented levels,” said Cahill. “We are seeing heavy sales growth in all channels, particularly via our travel agent partners, and we would like to express our tremendous appreciation for their support.”
Carnival announced a series of concerts onboard its ships last week and has now also revamped its wedding programme.
Its packages have been upgraded with new dining and more on-island ceremonies.
