China Eastern Airlines will launch a new route linking Shanghai with Brisbane on 16 December.

The carrier will operate the non-stop service four times a week (outbound every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), before increasing to daily flights from 14 January to cater for rising traffic over Chinese New Year.

Flights will depart Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 2135 and arrive at Brisbane Airport at 1005 the next day. The return flights will leave the Queensland hub at 1205 and get back into Shanghai at 2000.

China Eastern will deploy a two-class, 264-seat Airbus A330 aircraft on the new route, featuring flat-bed seats in business class.

Brisbane will be China Eastern’s fourth destination in the Australia following Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns. China Southern Airlines currently flies to Brisbane from Guangzhou.
