China Eastern Airlines will soon launch a new route connecting San Francisco and Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan province.
Commencing on 29 September 2016, the new trans-Pacific route will operate three times a week, with a stop in the Chinese port city of Qingdao in both directions.
Flights will depart Kunming every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0750, arriving in San Francisco just after midnight the next day. The return flights will leave the Californian city every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0145 and land back in Kunming at 1935.
China Eastern will deploy its 234-seat two-class Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, configured with 30 flat-bed seats in business class and 204 seats in economy.
The new route will become China Eastern’s first US service from Kunming, although it also connects the city with Vancouver.
