Demand for air travel in China continues to rise, with the country’s aviation authorities reporting a double-digit increase in passenger numbers in 2015.

According to data released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Monday, reported by Xinhua, the number of passenger movements at Chinese airports jumped 10% to 915 million last year.

Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou accounted for more than a quarter (27.3%) of total airport traffic, while the number of airports recording more than 10m passenger movements increased to 26 in 2015, compared to 24 the previous year.

By the end of 2015, there were 210 airports operating in China, eight more than at the end of 2014.
