Hilton’s luxury brand, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first ever property in India.
The new Conrad Pune, which is located in the centre of the Maharashtra city, close to Koregaon Park, offers 310 rooms and suites with a minimum size of 42m².
There are also seven F&B outlets including international, Indian and East Asian restaurants, an outdoor pool, children’s pool, 24-hour fitness centre, spa and beauty salon. And for the MICE market the hotel offers more than 1,800m² of conference and banqueting space including meeting rooms, boardrooms and a grand ballroom.
“The introduction of the Conrad brand in India marks a significant milestone for the brand’s expansion in South Asia,” said Amit Midha, general manager of the Conrad Pune. “Pune enjoys a robust demand for high-end hospitality from affluent travellers from around the globe.”
A series of innovative features have been incorporated into the new hotel, including ‘Intelligent Rooms’ which can sense the guest’s arrival and switch from energy-saving to occupied mode, activating the air-conditioning system, drawing the curtains and adjusting the lights according to the time of day.
And through the Conrad Concierge mobile app, guests are able to customise the details of their stay before, during and after each visit via a smartphone or tablet. This includes the ability to check-in while in transit from the airport.
Conrad Pune becomes the brand’s 14th hotel in Asia, joining existing properties in Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Dalian, Hong Kong, Koh Samui, Macau, the Maldives, Manila, Sanya, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo. And the luxury brand will continue to grow its Indian portfolio next year, with the new Conrad Bengaluru scheduled to open its doors in 2017.
Other new Asian Conrads are expected to launch in Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen, Jakarta and Ningbo between 2016 and 2020.
