Costa Cruises has revealed the first images of new ship Costa Diadema ahead of its launch next week.
The ship, dubbed ‘Queen of the Mediterranean’, was designed by architect Joseph Farcus and as the line’s new flagship has a new layout and design.
This includes more height thanks to an additional deck; more areas for sunbathing and sports as well as a children’s park and pool. An open promenade also wraps around the fifth deck, which will have bars and restaurants overlooking it.
These will include the Birreria Dresden Garden (a beer garden); the Japanese Teppenyaki restaurant; Vinoteca Grand Duca di Toscana, Teodora Bar and Bollicine Bar.
Farcus has worked with the cruise line since 2000 and in the new ship has driven a ‘sophisticated contemporary approach’.
He said: “We have been trying to create special designs, which affect the emotions of the guests indicating to them they are sailing in a very special environment created for their leisure and delivering them to a dream destination.”
